DEPUTY PRINCIPAL'S  REPORT

Learning Expo's

Our Learning Expo's have been a wonderful success.  The children have loved sharing their work with Parents and Carer's.  Please join us this Friday afternoon for our Prep - 2 learning expo at 2.45 pm

We look forward to you joining us.

CEMSIS

In 2019, our school is participating in Catholic Education Melbourne School Improvement Surveys (CEMSIS). CEMSIS is an annual process where schools listen to the thoughts and feelings students, families and staff have about how their school can improve. These surveys help inform the ongoing improvement of schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

One of the main goals of the family survey is to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in our school.  CEMSIS data benefits everyone within our school and provides valuable community insights on areas that each school can focus on. Our school believes it is important to encourage families to have a voice and contribute to shaping the ongoing improvement of the school.

The survey is available online,  and needs to be completed by Friday 20th September.

All families should receive an email tomorrow afternoon with your individual login to complete the survey.

Footy Day/Footy Tipping

THE DENTAL HEALTH VAN IS COMING TO ST AGNES!

This year I have arranged for the Australian Dental Health Van  to visit St Agnes in Term 4, Week 7.

Over the last fortnight students would have bought home a form with information from the Dental Health Van. If you would like your child to have a dental checkup please complete the form and return it to the office by 16th September.

If you have not received a form and you would like your children to visit the Dental Health Van in November, please come to the office and pick up an extra form.

Thank you

SOCIAL JUSTICE

PYJAMA DAY AT ST AGNES

On the 22nd August the SRCs organised a Pyjama Day at St Agnes.  On the day we raised money for the Asthma Foundation so that they could use the funds to help them do more research.

Did you know that Asthma is one of the main reasons kids our age miss out on coming to school each year!

Thank you to all the students and teachers who gave a gold coin donation and came to school in their pyjamas! Overall we raised over $215.65.

Not only did we come to school in our pyjamas last Thursday, but the Grade 5’s also had a great time walking down to the local kindergarten and reading their favourite picture books to the kinder kids.

Thank you to Mrs Gonzales and Miss Georgiou for opening the library during recess and lunch time. Students had a great time staying warm inside playing board games, colouring in and reading stories.

In the afternoon each class also got to team up with a different grade and students got to read their favourite picture books with each other. Everyone loved it and enjoyed getting to read their favourite books and listening to books they’d never read before. Overall it was a great day for everyone!

We wish we could be that comfy and warm at school every day.

Chloe Connors, Jasmine Velmahos & Miss Georgiou

SPORTS

SSV Holt Athletics 2019

On Thursday 29th  August, St Agnes' competed in the SSV Holt Athletics against other schools in the Holt District.  The Boys/Girls team was comprised of 63 St Agnes students from Grades 3,4,5 and 6.

The weather was perfect for Athletics.  The individual results were fantastic this year.  St Agnes finished 8th against the other schools.

I would like to say a big thank you to the teachers/staff and parents who helped out and came to support the students.

Most of all I thank the team for doing an amazing job representing St Agnes'.  Parents, teachers and myself are all very proud of you.

Congratulations to the students who have made it through to the next Beachside level.
