In reflecting on the year it has been a very productive and busy year. Looking back over the calendar I don’t know how we fitted it all in. Camps, excursions, Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, Skiing, Bike Ed, Life Ed, cultural days, music, Italian, Bluearth, cross country & athletics and teaching all the core subjects as well staff doing the School Review.
I would like to thank the staff Bec, Kate and Renee for all their work and commitment to the school along with our specialist teachers, Alex, Peg and Sandra. I thank School Council for their time, efforts and support, Biddy for leading the Parent & Friends fundraising committee. All the volunteers who have helped throughout the year on various activities and lastly to all the parents for their help and support over the year.
Last week as their final role as School Captains Bree, Hayden and I went to Edi Upper Primary School to the launch of the SAKG cookbook. The recipes are from the SAKG program which the children have cooked in the last few years. The book has been professionally produced and is available from our school for $20.00.
Last Friday, Bree and Hayden entertained our school by playing songs on the guitar from a list of songs they had been learning throughout the year with Phil.
Carols by Candlelight
The Carols by Candlelight last Friday evening was a really enjoyable night. It was great to meet other people from our Moyhu Community along with our family and friends of the school. Our music teacher Alex did a fantastic job leading our students with singing all the Christmas Carols. It was also a great opportunity to farewell our year 6 students again and the Finger family who have been involved with Moyhu Primary for many years. We wish them all well.
Thank you to Neil and Max from the Moyhu Lions Club for cooking the BBQ on the evening and Santa for finding the time in his busy schedule to drop by in the fire truck and visit all the children on the evening. Thank you to everyone else who contributed to the evening. We really appreciate it. It was a fun night. There are lots of great photos of everyone below from the evening taken by Chris Shanley, thank you.
Another quick thank you to everyone who helped out on Wednesday and Thursday cleaning up our school after the storm on Tuesday evening.
On behalf of all of the staff at Moyhu Primary we wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and holidays and look forward to seeing you all in 2018 on Tuesday 30th January.
