House Sports

Our Annual Year 3-6 House Sports at Waverley Athletics Track are to be held on Friday 8th March. One of the highlights of our sporting calendar, it promises to be even bigger and better than before. I’m excited – I hope you are too. Put the date down into your diaries now.

If you are able to help out on the day, please see Viv Potter.

Ideally, we would like at least 4 parents with each year level. The more helpers we get, the more we will be able to share the load.

District Round Robin

We are off to Jells Park tomorrow for games of T20 Cricket, Softball, Tee Ball, Rounders and Danish Rounders in the Annual District Summer Sport Round Robin.

Go Syndal !

Camp Weekaway

120 students, teachers and parents will be heading off to Camp Weekaway first thing Monday morning. Weekaway is an outdoor adventure style camp set on 120 acres of bushland and open paddocks, about 1.5hrs north of Melbourne just out of Lancefield. They are all in for a great time.

We are still in need of some parental assistance for our PMP program. Please see Viv Potter if you can help!

Sports Captains

Hi my name is Xavier and I am the sport captain for 2019. I do lots of gymnastics and I enjoy doing lots of sports. My favourites are gymnastics, athletics and cricket. I am in red house. In athletics, I have made it to the state championships 4 times and have gotten a bronze medal once when I was 9. I hope that I will be a good sport captain for everyone and goooooooooooooo SYNDAL!

Hi my name is  Katie and I’m the other sport captain for 2019. I am passionate about everything I do and very encouraging towards others. Some of the sports I enjoy are: netball, footy, cricket, and tap dancing. I have represented the school many times before in things such as: inter school sport, cross country, athletics, and G.A.T.Eways. I’m happy to talk to everyone if they need some help.

Goooooo Syndal!!!

A reminder to all parents that you must  sign your child into Before School Care and out of After School Care.  If unsure of the process please ask an Educator.

There is a Parent Communication Book on the Parent desk for recording any changes to your bookings. Please use this instead of passing the message onto an Educator.

On 07/02/19 at After School Care an Emergency Evacuation Drill was undertaken.  Children new to the process were guided  and responded positively with support from our Educators.

Hasandi and Kennard are the Helpers of the Week taking on the role of Educators extraordinaire.

Eddie is our creator of the week.  Here he shows off the very cute echidna he made.

Parent's Association

Welcome from the Parent's Association for 2019

The SSPS Parent's Association has the fortunate role of being the link between our families and the school.

We welcome any parent or carer to become involved in the Parent's Association in order to assist in providing wonderful experiences for our children and families.

This year we are focussing on:

  • Icy Poles for Sports Day
  • Easter Raffle
  • Fruit for the Fun Run or Jump Rope for Heart
  • Curry Night
  • Grandparent/Special Person's Day
  • School Disco
  • Spoil the Staff Day
  • Footy Day
  • End of Year Dessert Night
  • Cake Stalls for Election Days and the School Fete

The PA Committee  meet each month on a Friday afternoon at 2:30pm or a Tuesday evening at 7:00pm.

To be part of the PA you do not need to come to meetings.

The best way to help is to volunteer a little of your time  to help out with the events through out the year.

We can add you to our email list so you can get sneak previews of upcoming events and also receive requests for volunteers.

Please feel free to send an email to

We look forward to hearing from you!
