Principal's Report

Week 9

The last newsletter for Term 1! It seems not that long ago we were welcoming our new preps for 2018.  It has been a very hectic term with camps, swimming, bike hike and lots of schoolwork.

Not all of us will be resting over the holidays, it will be very busy for Miss Saunders as she is getting married on the 7th April. We wish her and Dan all the best for the day and their future together.

Last week we also farewelled Bec Gathercole as she goes on maternity leave and wished her all the best for the upcoming birth of her second child. We will be looking forward to a visit during the term.

We held our School Council Annual General Meeting for 2018. All went well. Your eight school council members representing Moyhu Primary School for the 2018 year are

President : Liz Proft

Vice President: Kerrie Evans

Finance: Renee, Rick, Biddy & Liz

Parents Association: Biddy Burrowes

Chris Shanley

Emma Shanley

Kylie Morey

Dave Suffield

Bec Hansted

The two members on behalf of DET will be Kate Saunders and myself as Principal.

Our year 3 and 4 students are still away on camp. They left on Tuesday for 15 Mile Creek Camp and return tomorrow at the end of the day. I am heading up there for the night tonight. I hear they have been having a great time so far. We will give you a full report and photos first week of Term 2.

Everyone has earned a break. Make sure you rest up and prepare yourselves for another great term of learning after the holidays. Please remember that we finish school at 2.30pm tomorrow, our last day of term.

We wish everyone a restful and safe holiday. Hope the Easter Bunny finds you all and see you in

Term 2!

P.S. Save some Easter eggs for the staff on the first day back!!

Maths 19th March

We made the most of the beautiful weather and nature by having our maths lesson outside! We did some skip counting patterns in our maths book then finished off with some pattern making with our natural resources. I loved all the different patterns – very creative!

River Detectives - Water Testing & Kinder Visit

Thursday 22nd March 2018

Moyhu Primary School took our water bug samples to Moyhu Kindergarten and talked to the kids about different water bugs.

In small groups, we used spoons and pipettes to find water bugs in our samples and have a closer look at them. It was very interesting to see all the different types of bugs in our local waterway.

The students from Moyhu Primary did a wonderful job of talking to and helping the kinder kids. Everyone was very engaged in this activity and seemed to have fun learning about and finding the water bugs! Thank you to the kinder for having us, we can’t wait to come back soon.

MOYHU OUTSIDE HOURS SCHOOL CARE

Thank you to Casey Ivone for taking on the Mosh Supervisor's role at such short notice recently. Casey has been doing a fantastic job so far. She has familiarised herself with the program, the children who are currently enrolled and families.

The current children have really taken to Casey and her program. Please contact the school should you require your child to attend After School Care.

More details on changes and the program will be available in the coming weeks.
