From the Principal and Assistant Principal

Thank you letters from Minato-ku students

It was delightful to receive thank you letters from our friends from Minato ku.

The letters will be on display in the courtyard entry to the SALC for all to enjoy.

Beaumaris PS Year 6 Trip to Japan
December 1st to 10th

The visiting principal from the Minato-Ku district extended an invitation to us to visit his school in Tokyo.

After an information evening for our Year 5 and 6 parents and an interview process, fourteen Year 6 students, accompanied by Mrs Angie Gall, Mrs Jenny Fildes and Mrs Louise Neave, will spend ten days visiting Japan to learn more about its culture and traditions. This is a stunning opportunity for our students.

A huge thank you to Angie Gall for organising the trip, well supported by Mrs Fildes and Mrs Neave.

Year 6 Production of Peter Pan next week

Well done to all the Year 6 students for their outstanding preparations for next week's performance.  Rehearsals are underway and we guarantee the production will be highly entertaining and thoroughly enjoyed by the parents of our Year 6 students.

Thank you in advance to all the staff and parents who have been working  tirelessly to support the production including making costumes, props, backdrops and helping with make-up.

Gardens at the entrance to the school

Thank you to Jen Lees, parent, and her father, for spending time at school last weekend, tidying up and rejuvenating the gardens at the entrance to the school. Their time and effort is very much appreciated. Parents and visitors to the school have commented on how great the gardens look. Some rain and sunshine this week have been an added bonus.

Quote of the Week: Confidence

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.” – J.M. Barrie

Sir James Matthew Barrie, 1st Baronet, OM was a Scottish novelist and playwright, best remembered today as the creator of Peter Pan.

Gratitude and Mindfulness

What are three things that went well for you today?

What are the best things that happened to you today?

Who are you most grateful for and why?

What are you looking forward to most about tomorrow?

2019 Yearbook Cover Design

The Art Captains would like to invite all Prep-Year 6 students to enter their ‘design the yearbook covers’ competition. This year, students are invited to design our school’s front and back covers for the annual yearbook. Students are asked to draw the covers using the theme ‘my favourite memory of school’. Templates are available out the front of the Art Room.  Entries due 20th September

Reminders from the JSC

Thank you to everyone who has donated lucky bags. We currently have over 500 and 1MW are firing ahead with 163 donations. We need some help though. In order to have enough lucky bags on fete day, we need another 500 donations.  Any help is really appreciated.

Also, we will be selling Legacy Badges for the next week. We have badges, pens, bouncy balls, stickers, wrist bands and tattoos for sale. All money collected goes directly to families of those who have served our country in the defence force.

Working Bee Sunday October 20th 9-11.30

A big call out to all of our families to join us at our whole school working bee. Our priority on the day is to tidy the grounds and garden beds in preparation for our Fete on the 27th October. The morning will conclude with a cuppa and refreshments.  Save the date.

Following a brief pause due to renovations, the instrumental music program has recommenced at Beaumaris Primary.  Small group lessons will be conducted each Friday by Stewart Taylor on behalf of Musicorp Australia.  Stewart plays in numerous working bands and has completed four European tours and ten commercially released studio albums.  Aside from his love of music performance/composition, Stewart is also passionate about teaching and has over 10 years experience teaching prep-tertiary level music.  Lessons are conducted in a relaxed and fun environment, enabling students to discover the joy of music.

Lessons are currently offered on the following instruments: guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, drums and flute.

To find out more about how you can enrol your child in music lessons please contact Musicorp on 1300 858 911.
