PB4L Report
Week 5

Is it just me or have drivers forgotten how to let people reverse out of a carpark? Where have the days gone where we put others first even behind the wheel?

Whether at home, school, the workplace, shopping centre or church, respect is a value that each of us should display. Respect doesn’t mean that we have to like everything that our friends say, like or do. But it does mean “Respect comes with embracing acceptance, forgiveness, not judging others, listening to and valuing their viewpoints, and appreciating their personality” as an article by Rachel Bridgewaters so eloquently puts it. Bridgewater goes on to share 34 ways to show respect.  I’ll share the first 10.  Please read the list with your child/children and see what they think.

  1. Be kind and considerate
  2. Be pleasant
  3. Be affectionate
  4. Be courteous
  5. Be welcoming
  6. Use people’s names
  7. Remember things about others
  8. Be helpful
  9. Be open-minded
  10. Respect others' opinions

Years 7/8 Students Show Their Skills!

On Thursday a select number of Years 7 and 8 students demonstrated their skills both on the Netball court and the Touch Rugby field at SEISS (South East Independent School Sport) 2019.

Both the Years 7 and 8 girls teams qualified for the Netball semi-finals with our Year 7 girls moving on to be finalists against MECS A (Mount Evelyn Christian School). It was a fierce final in which our girls were defeated 7-4, bringing home the Year 7 Runners Up pennant.

The Years 7 and 8 boys were on fire on the Rugby field. Our Year 7 boys placed third overall and our Year 8 boys were undefeated throughout the competition, bringing home the Year 8 Touch Rugby pennant for HC!

It was a pleasure taking such passionate, respectful and skilled students and we look forward to the next SEISS event in Term 2!
