Dear Sacred Heart Community,
I would like to thank all our students and their families for your support of our school during this past term. Your willingness to cooperate with school initiatives and active interest in the educational experiences we present, allows our school to be always looking to improve its practices. I would like to wish all our families a restful break and hope that you can enjoy some quality family time.
Congratulations to our Year Four students who received the Sacrament of the Eucharist for the first time last Sunday. It was inspiring to see our church filled to the rafters with young families and older parishioners, coming together in prayer, song and reflection.
Last Friday, we celebrated our Footy Colour's Day. Our students participated in football activities organised by our student sport's committee, ate scrumptious hot dogs and then watched a netball match between the senior students and staff. It was great to see such a wide range of AFL teams colours being worn with such pride. A big thank you to mums, Jodie and Vy, for organising 130 hot dogs.
Whilst we are on the sporting theme, congratulations to our two students Sienna and Aleisha, who again represented our school and themselves with distinction at the Division Athletics Carnival last week. Sienna came first in the long jump and Aleisha came first in the 800 metres and second in the 1500 metres.
Last Wednesday our latest group of students to receive the "Sacred Heart, Good Samaritan Award" were presented at our assembly. Congratulations to Jayden (Year Prep), Amelia (Year 2), Miliana (Year 3), Amelia (Year 3), Connor (Year 5), Georgia (Year 5) and Sean (Year5) for exhibiting great personal qualities over these past four weeks.
A reminder about some safety issues that we would ask for your continued cooperation please. When parking of an evening and morning in the Church driveway, it is important to leave space for cars accessing the church car park at the rear of the church.
We again ask that students do not use the adventure playground before school. With only one teacher on duty we cannot provide adequate supervision to ensure the safety of students on this equipment. After school, students can only be on the playground if they are accompanied by their parent. Responsibility for our student's safety is then the domain of the parent.
Again have a great holiday, if your team is still in the final's race, best of luck, and we look forward to seeing you next term.
