Fete Wrap Up

Thank you to all our wonderful families that helped to make our Fete a fantastic day!  We had a lot of amazing support from many members of our school community.  The weather did not deter the amount of people attending the fete, sampling the delicious food, purchasing goods from our many different stalls and enjoying the delightful performances of children, as well as enjoying the demonstrations provided by Citrus Dance, Natyalaya Dance School and Aikido Maai.  The Haunted House was particularly popular with children who found it an extremely spooky experience.

The variety of rides proved to be great entertainment for the children and supervising adults and many a smile was seen when a child won a block of chocolate at the chocolate toss stall.

We were greatly entertained in the afternoon by Sam from Jellis Craig as he auctioned off the beautiful class paintings created by our super arty students.  Well done to all the families who bid for a painting and they will now have a lasting memory of their child's class in 2019 on their wall at home.

Thank you to all the families who purchased raffle tickets to support our Fete Raffle and congratulations to all the families that were lucky enough to take home a prize.  Some of the winners were students, parents, teachers of Syndal South as well as members of our local community.

We were amazed how quickly the Fete was packed up and the grounds cleared and cleaned at the end of the day and we look forward to announcing how much we raised once all expenses have been submitted.

Lost Property

Now that the weather is becoming a lot nicer we are finding a lot more jumpers turning up in our lost property basket.

Please ensure your child's name is on all uniform clothing and don't forget to regularly check the basket for items. It is located in the 1/2 Building.

Hats On

As the weather is slowly getting warmer and we see a rise in UV levels remember to slip on a hat, slop on some sunscreen, slap on a shirt, seek some shade, and slide on some sunnies!

From the first day of Term 4 hats are required to be worn when outside. Students without hats will be asked to sit in the shade at playtime for their own protection. Remember - NO HAT NO PLAY!

Hats are available from the office.

Poppy Appeal

Poppy badges and bands are being sold in the office from $2 each.  The money raised by the Poppy Appeal supports current and former service personnel of Australia.

If parent's would like to volunteer their time and speak to the children about the significance of this celebration we would love to encourage you to do so.  It could be at a time when you come to collect or drop off your children.

Paige and Finlay are our Helpers of the Week. During our celebration of Children's Week the children were given the opportunity to choose activities they would like to do that were a bit different from usual.  On this particular morning SLIME was chosen.  Paige and Finlay happily volunteered their services to organise and run the activity. Thank you girls.
