Helping our Community

Driving home from a hiking weekend at Wilsons Prom (we had to evacuate due to the fires) and hearing on the radio all the devastation being caused all over Victoria I wanted to help and also involve the kids.

Together our daughter Leah and I came up with the idea to organise a free dress day at our school - Syndal South Primary for a gold coin donation.

The idea was embraced by our wonderful new Principal Ms Helen Freeman and together we raised around $706 towards the bushfire relief.

We are also very proud of our kids who also organised a homemade lemonade stall with their friends to raise more money and they even donated some of their own pocket money.

It shows that together in our community we can achieve a lot.

Thank you, everyone.

Easter Raffle

The school is again organising a fantastic Easter Raffle!!  To make it bigger and better we are asking that families kindly donate Easter eggs, chocolates and Easter giftware.  From these donations Easter hampers will be made to be offered as prizes.

The Easter donations need to be brought into class before Friday 29th March.

Raffle tickets will be 50c each and one book of 10 will be sent home to each family tomorrow to be sold.  We kindly ask that if all sold and unsold tickets, along with the money, are brought back to school by 4th April.  Additional books will be available from the office.

The raffle will be drawn on the last day of Term (5th April) at the final assembly at 2pm, with lots of prizes up for grabs!

House Athletics Carnival 2019

What a fabulous day for the Year 3-6 students last Friday! The weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold - and the students looked fabulous in their coloured clothing as they ran, jumped and threw to the best of their ability. There were many close races and plenty of fine performances including school records for their age groups in Long Jump to Xavier, 100m to Vivian, Vonnie & Jackson and in High Jump to Brooke.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped out on the day assisting at events, handing out icy poles, picking up hurdles, and supporting our students as they tried their best. In particular, the event could not have been staged without the help of Jeff Fuller, Luke Delaney, Tim Lawrence and Bryan Milne who were there early to set up and then stayed to pack things up.

The winning House and age group champions will be announced at Assembly on Monday 18th March.
