Principal's Report

As we come to the end of the 2016 school year it is a great time to reflect on the growth and achievement made by individual students and the school as a whole. As you read your child’s report and portfolio at the end of this week we hope you will be proud of the effort they have put in to their learning journey this year and can look ahead together as they set their future learning goals.

Education is a team effort and the achievement of our students is thanks to the partnership between our staff and our student’s ‘first educators’, their parents and carers. Marlborough sets a great example for other schools when it comes to having a connected and engaged school community. As we make changes and grow as a school, this is something that we always need to embrace, nurture and strengthen.

Throughout the year there have been many big events at the school, such as our 40th Anniversary Celebrations, and I would like to thank every single community member who has helped in any way with any of the events and the day to day running of our school.

I would also like to congratulate our graduating year 6 students. You have been great role models for the rest of the school this year and we wish you all the very best for your futures. We will be watching with pride as you make great lives for yourselves and enrich the world around you.

A huge thank you also goes to every staff member at Marlborough. We are a fantastic team who bring the best out of each other and can support each other as needed. It is exciting to be leading such a committed and skilled group of professionals and I am excited about the future and what we can achieve together for the students here at Marlborough.

2017 Student Leaders

Congratulations to all of our student leaders for 2017. We have an outstanding group of students going in to Yr 6 next year, and the selection process for these positions was extremely difficult. Throughout the year all of our students will have the opportunity to be leaders in some capacity, and the informal leadership our senior students show every day is so important.

At this time of the year we also say farewell to staff and families who are leaving the school and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Jo Bryant, Brooke Eastwood and Karen Ramirez are all leaving the school at the end of the year. I would like to thank them all for the outstanding contribution they have made to Marlborough PS, both within and beyond the classroom. You will be greatly missed and we wish you all the best in the future.

We also have several families leaving the school, many of whom have a long connection with Marlborough. We wish you all the best and we hope to see you visiting us and returning for school events in the future. We would like to think that all of our alumni are an important part of the Marlborough community. Farewell to the following families:

The sessions consisted of dry land activities and then a water session in the diving pool.  The students had a fantastic experiences using the diving facilities at Aquanation. The students were also given a flyer to try out more sessions during the holidays.

PMP Program

The Preps were involved in a six week P.M.P. program with Sean Buncle and his team from Eastern Football League.

The students rotated around stations set up by the EFL teachers. The activities at the stations involved a range of equipment and set ups. The skills the students completed involved hopping, skipping, jumping, balancing, throwing, catching, crawling and kicking. The students enjoyed the program immensely.  Each session was completed with a fun, minor game.

A huge thank you to Sean, Harry and Adam for running the program. Special help and contributions also from parents Barb, Libby and Dean plus the Prep teachers - Mrs Bryant and Mrs Reiner.
