Enrichment Cooking

During Term 2, Year 3 and 4 have been cooking for enrichment. Students have been making ANZAC biscuits, Cornflake honey cups, Pizza rolls and Veggie cupcake treats. I hope that some of the food has been making it home for you to eat. If not, you’ll be able to remake them and more recipes when your child brings home the cookbook. Enjoy!

The best thing about cooking is you get to make it and eat it. It is fun learning about all of the ingredients - Cam

VCAL Spotlight

VCAL students have been very productive in their learning. A part of our Literacy focus has included hands on learning in a number of student interest areas. These areas often coincide with the specific TAFE courses that are also being undertaken.

Buomkuoth and Hensley who are both completing their Certificate 2 in Sports & Recreation, have completed planning, designing, filming and completing a power point program the benefits of exercise, particularly chin ups!

Shourav and Nathan who share an interest in food and nutrition, researched, planned and  cooked a delicious, spicy Vegetable Briyani.

Kyle has a passion for the music industry which is also his study at TAFE. He completed research on Melbourne’s music scene at our annual Moomba Festival.

Joel who is up to date with the latest clothing trends, researched and presented his power point of the latest Nike sports shoe.

Brodie is highly knowledgeable in all things mechanical and completed a step by step instructional poster on the Do’s & Don’ts of driving a manual vehicle.

Billy who is studying his final year of Agriculture, educated us on how to correctly dip sheep.

Lachlan and Ashleigh have developed their oral and organisational skills, by interviewing their peers as part of the in house TV News Show.  (Not viewed or shown out of the classroom or any public site).

These are just a few of the activities that our VCAL students have been involved with in their project based literacy learning.
