Remembrance Day at Heritage College

This morning, students from Early Learning to Secondary campus walked to the Officer Memorial Gates (corner Starling Road and Princes Highway) to take part in the community service for Remembrance Day.

Secondary student Kaeyah was honoured to represent Heritage College by leading in prayer during the service. Three wreaths supplied from Early Learning, Primary and Secondary were laid at the gates by student representatives.

Organised by the Officer & District Community Association, Remembrance Day was attended by Cardinia Shire Council, Beaconsfield Officer Scout Group, schools and representatives from the community to pay their respects to the fallen in conflict.

Colour Run

Thanks to all primary and secondary staff for their support in having each student participate in the Colour Run! The weather conditions were perfect and the runners had a great time competing for the cause of raising funds for Nepal Service Trip 2019.

Get your monies in by Friday 15 November Close of Business so all fundraising monies can be tallied and prizes can be selected!

We will have the final amount raised in next week’s newsletter!

Vacation Care

With Term 4 drawing to a close, it's important to start planning some fun over the holiday period whilst mums and dads are working.

Officer campus provides a full Vacation Care program that runs during the Summer holidays. Delivered by Miss Kellie and her team, there are five weeks full of activities planned. There's an excursion to Cranbourne Gardens, Crazy Hair Day, Candle Making, Scavenger Hunt, Master Chef Cooking Day, Games days, Sports days and more.

Who can take part in the program?

Vacation Care is open to all primary students at Heritage College. Primary aged children who are not currently students of Heritage College are welcome to attend, however, they need to complete a registration form prior to attending the program.

Choose the days that work for you.

You can choose the whole program, or just choose the days that work for you. Simply notify the Vacation Care team when you register.

It's affordable.

With subsidies of between 60-85% available for most families, Vacation Care is an affordable option at between $13-$34 per day (depending on subsidy rates available to each family from CCS).

How do I register?

Simply pick up a registration form available at reception, complete and return. Our friendly Vacation Care Team members will be in touch to discuss further.

Community Involvement

Last week was all about community outings to the Aged Care and Fire Station, but this week the 3 and 4-year-old kinder children connected with their wider school community. This is an important connection that nurtures and eases the transition to school process.

In the short three-days that we had, the children had time with their year 5 buddies, strengthening their bonds with the older children. These friendships come in very useful for orientation days, as the year 5’s can be helpers on the day and there are familiar faces to see when the little ones arrive for their orientation into the prep classroom.

On Thursday, the primary school put on a lovely concert of songs they had been learning throughout the year in music lessons. Each class sang three songs and they had wonderful bright costumes on as well. The kinder children loved to see some of their brothers and sisters, or buddies singing on the stage.

Friday brought Chapel as always in the morning, another integrated school activity, which the children love to attend every week. It would have been the day we participated in the whole school “fun colour run”, however, the stormy weather was not ideal. The ELC do look forward to being involved with the run next Wednesday 13th Nov.

Kinders Participate in Remembrance Day Ceremony

The 3 and 4 Year Old Kinder groups visited the Officer Memorial Gates with the greater campus on Monday to pause for Remembrance Day.

Children from the Kinder groups laid a wreath on behalf of the Early Learning Centre staff and students.
