From the Principal...

Dear Parents and Friends of St Therese's School,

Today we celebrated 30 years as a school community. What an achievement! Today I felt pride and such love to be part of this school community and am excited to lead our school into the future. I was honored to meet the previous principals and staff who have gone before me, especially Sister Kerry who was the founding principal of St Therese's School.

An event such as the one today does not just happen! I would like to sincerely thank all the staff at St Therese's for their dedication and commitment, especially Meegan Blackney and her team for all the organisation!

Thank you to Father Joseph for celebrating Mass with us. It was a lovely ceremony and blessing of the garden. I am always so overwhelmed when the children sing so beautifully! The Taiko drummers did not disappoint with their performance at the blessing of the garden.

Thank you to the students and teachers from St Peter's College in Cranbourne who created our new garden space. It has exceeded our expectations!

Thanks to Sensei Andrews for her amazing sculpture of an origami crane. I thank Joy also for her wise plant choices. The Japanese peace garden looks stunning and each piece that is there has a story to tell.

A huge thank you to Catherine Hogan and the team of staff who assisted her in bringing the Art Show to life. The students all contributed to the show and we invite all families to enjoy the artwork that is on display throughout the school.

I am looking forward to this evening when families are invited back to school for the picnic at 5:00pm to share food from their home countries.

I truly believe in the words of Saint Therese - 'It is love alone that matters'. I know that with love we can achieve great things here at St Therese's! God Bless you all.

School Fees

School Fees are now due to be paid by November 30. If your family is experiencing difficulty with paying fees or you would like to arrange a direct debit please contact the office and speak to Colleen Johnson at your earliest convenience.

Please understand that we are obliged to send home a letter demanding that the fees be paid immediately if you have not made contact with the school or paid fees by the end of November. This is a requirement of the Diocese of Sale.

Foundation 2020 & New Family Information Night

Last Thursday night we held an information night for new families. We had an overwhelming response with standing room only! Thank you to the families who attended and we welcome all new families into our school.

This morning, our 2020 Prep students came for their first orientation session. They looked so gorgeous as they walked into their classrooms for the first time!

I would like to announce that Mrs Sharon Evans and Ms Colleen Kathard will be the prep teachers for 2020. I think they were just as nervous and excited as the new prep children were. What a great year 2020 will be.

Japanese Day

Please don't forget that this Thursday 14th November is our annual Japanese Day.

I look forward to seeing all the children dressed in Japanese costumes!

Many fun activities have been organised for the day.

Have a wonderful week and see you at the picnic this evening!

God Bless,

Michelle Bruitzman
