School News

Welcome to Mrs Gibbons!

We welcomed Mrs Gibbons to RidgeView with a short assembly this morning. We are delighted to have her join the RidgeView team.

RidgeView School 50 Year Celebration

The Board and FORS committee have decided to change the date of our 50 Year Celebration so that we can use the fields for sport and other activities. The 50 Year Celebration will now take place on Saturday 30 November from 10am to 2pm.  Any help, both in planning and on the day, would be greatly appreciated.

Education Outside the Classroom

EOTC takes place in the final week of Term 3 from 23 - 27 September. We have organised a variety of trips and buses, organisations coming into school, and exciting school activities.

Your child should have brought home a yellow notice with all the details and a permission slip

Upcoming Sports Events

We have the following sports events coming up over the next couple of weeks:

Thursday 5 September  Rippa at Helensville

(It is Rugby World Cup themed and we have been given South Africa as our country. We have been asked to wear face paint and make South African flags.)

Monday 16 September   Y5/6 T-Ball Tournament (no experience necessary)

Unfortunately we seem to have an outbreak of headlice at school at the moment. The only way to get rid of these is for everyone to be really vigilant, check your children, and treat them if you find them. A notice is going home with the children today.

Bell Times

Please note that the handbell rings at 8.55am. This is the signal for all the children to go into class and settle down and for parents to say their "Goodbyes!" This means that everyone is ready to start the school day when the schoolbell rings at 9.00am.

Yummy Stickers

Please can you collect Yummy Stickers off apples and other fruit and stick them on to a Yummy Sticker chart. ( or Yummy Apples provide sports equipment on a pro rata basis - the more stickers we collect, the more equipment we can get for the school. Kelly Sampson is co-ordinating this.

Subway Lunches

Every second Friday you are able to put in an order for Subway for your child. It is important that you put the correct money into the order envelope or that you are happy to wait two weeks for your change. This is one instance when it does not work to put money into the school account as the money does not come to us. We send the sealed envelopes to Subway, who then process the orders and the money. Thank you for helping us with this.
