Communication

Thank you to everyone who completed the communication survey earlier this term.  As a result of the feedback we received we have started to make changes to our newsletter and our website.  This newsletter format is a trial - we'd love to hear what you think.  Our new website is currently under construction and should be fully operational very soon.

2020 Information Night

We held our information night on Tuesday evening for parents with children starting Prep next year.  We had a wonderful turnout of new families.  If you know anyone who would be interested in enrolling at our school but they were unable to attend the information evening please tell them to come along to one of our school tours.  The tour dates are all listed on our website.  If you have a younger child starting school next year please collect an enrolment pack from the office.

Working Bee

Thank you to all of the families for coming along to our working bee especially given the weather we had.  We were able to get so much done!  Our grounds are looking even more spacious.

Colour Explosion

We are all looking forward to our very first Colour Explosion fundraiser this Friday.  Please  get all of your sponsorship money in by Friday (online donations close at midnight on 29/3).  All money raised will go towards a shade sail for our new playground. The children will get very wet and dirty during the event so you will need to bring a towel and a change of clothes before putting them into the car.  If you would like to come and watch, the event will run from 1:45 until 3pm.

End of Term 1

I can't believe that next week is the last week of term 1!  Next week will be planning week.  This means that whilst our teachers are planning the students will have a day with the specialist teachers.  Grades 2 and 4 will be on Tuesday, Grades prep and 1 on Wednesday and Grades 3, 5 and 6 on Thursday.  On Friday our assembly will be under Gumbuya and will begin with our annual Easter Hat Parade.  The raffle will be drawn at the end of the assembly.  As this is our final newsletter for term 1, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our families a safe and happy Easter.  Term 2 begins on Tuesday 23rd April.  Thursday 25th April is a public holiday due to ANZAC day.

Parent & Friends

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to everyone who attended our recent Parent & Friends meeting– it was great to see new and old faces there! It’s been a busy term for fundraising and organising events. Our first big fundraiser of the year is only days away – how exciting! We have lots of exciting activities coming up and hope that we can find a few more volunteers to come along and help organise!

Fundraising so far….
2019 TARGET - $20,000
Subway Lunches - $635

Events
Colour Explosion – quick reminder
Friday 29th March
What a fantastic effort so far, the children and yourselves have done with the fundraising! We are well on our way to hopefully getting the new shade sail! Just a reminder that children are asked to wear an old white top and whatever they wish on the bottom for school on Friday. The children will be getting wet and having chalk thrown as they run past, so we suggest goggles or sunglasses to be worn and also a towel and a spare change of clothes to be brought to school.
If you would like to volunteer at the event, please post a message in the Parents and Friends Facebook Group.

Easter Raffle
Tickets have been sent home to all children. There are some spares at the office if you require them. The raffle will be drawn at assembly on Friday 5th April after the Easter Hat parade.
We are taking donations of chocolate or Easter themed goodies for the raffle. If you would like to contribute, please ensure you drop your gift off at the office before Thursday 4th April.

Mother’s Day
Save the Date – Friday 10th March. Mums/ Guardians/ Grandmas/ Aunts and special persons are invited to come and spend time with their child from 1.00 – 1.30 in the classroom and then join us for Afternoon Tea from 1.30pm in the Gym. Further details of this event will be sent home very early in term 2.
The Mother’s Day stall will run on Wednesday 8th May and Thursday 9th May.

Special lunches
Term 2 will see us having two of these events. The first one, Friday 24th May, will be a Bakers Delight Pizza lunch and the second will be a Subway lunch (Thursday 20th June).

Icy Poles
We will be continuing to sell icy poles for term 2. These are being sold for $1.50 on a Friday after lunch eating time.  We are looking into alternative treats and will communicate plans next term.

Upcoming Events
Trivia Night - Friday 2nd August

Pie Day - Friday 30th August

Father’s Day event - Friday 30th August

School Disco - Thursday 19th September
Grandparents Day - Friday 25th October

Parents and Friends meetings
The next Parents & Friends meeting date will be published on Compass in the next few weeks once

Lastly, we just would like to thank the school community for their support with fundraising so far this
term. It’s been very busy for fundraising and we and the school do very much appreciate the
support.

Further updates from the group will follow in April.
Thank you!
