Remembrance Day falls Monday, 11th November. On the 11th hour, as a school community, we will have assemblies at both campus locations to remember the fallen.
Narre Warren South Campus
A Special commemoration ceremony at the flagpole on Monday. Students will lay a wreath and one minute’s silence will be observed. The national anthem and a brief address will be delivered. Parents are more than welcome to attend the ceremony, join us at the flagpole at 11am.
Early Learning to Year 12 will attend the Remembrance Day ceremony at Officer Memorial Gates (corner of Starling and Princes Highway).
A Secondary student will participate in the official program on behalf of Heritage College, and three wreaths will be placed by student representatives during the ceremony.
As is tradition, students will walk down Starling Road to the gates, participate in the program and walk back.
Primary and Secondary parents will be notified via text message.

The Colour Run planning happens at Officer campus TOMORROW Friday, 8th November! We have a new fundraising leader, Lexie from Year 3-4 OCP who has so far raised over $780! The overall tally of funds raised is just over $7,000 - an amazing effort for the Year 12 Service Trip!
A range of events
With a range of races available including a 500m mini dash, 1 km, 2km and 5km options, choose which course to participate in when you register.
Easy Sponsorship Goals
In order to participate in Colour Run 2019, each registrant needs to raise a minimum of $10. With this level of sponsorship, each participant earns for themselves an awesome prize from which to choose.
How to register
Visit the following link https://schoolfundraising.com.au/ and click on the “Student Sign Up” button to create a profile. The Run is registered as a single, whole school event, so all students will need to select ‘Heritage College - Officer.’ (please note: as the event is based at the Officer campus location, please use this entry rather than the one that is available for Narre Warren South. The event location is something that we cannot change or combine using this third party website). Choose your goal based on the prizes you would like to earn and share your page with friends and family to find sponsors.
Support Year 12 Service Trip
The Colour Run supports fundraising efforts for the annual Nepal Service Trip. Each year, the graduating Year 12 students travel to Nepal in partnership with ADRA to support communities in need.
Friday, 8th November
11:15am - 12:55pm
A shuttle bus will run from Narre Warren South to allow all students to participate.
Put your last fundraising efforts in overnight - let’s do our very best to stretch to $8,000 as a school community to support the Year 12 Service Trip!
Miss Elyse Taylor

Kinders Visit Aged Care Millhaven Lodge in Pakenham
Residents from the Millhaven Lodge in Pakenham were delighted to receive a visit from the 3 and 4-Year-Old Kinders on Monday this week.
Mingling with residents after their exercise in the cafe, the children were keen to share the story that they had brought with them. Residents read to eager listeners, which then enabled conversations with the residents to develop about when they were young.
Tying into the Encounter bible curriculum, the children learnt about how Jesus took care of lonely people like Zaccheus, and how he helped the lonely.
The 3 and 4 Year Old Kinder groups will return to Millhaven Lodge each Monday throughout Term 4.
Fire Station Visit
As part of the Encounter bible curriculum, 3 and 4 Year Old Kinders have been reading the story of the Good Samaritan and learning about helpers in the local community.
On Wednesday, the Kinders visited the CFA Officer Fire Station to discover ‘What do the firefighters do in the community’? With the help of local fire officer Rohit and Danielle, the children had the opportunity to look at the truck and through the station. At the end of the day, everyone had a turn of using the hose.

Keep your eye out for issue 8 of the Scholastic Book Club. The following link will give you a sneak peak at the wonderful offers available: https://www.scholastic.com.au/media/5384/bc819.pdf
Books offer a great opportunity to build vocabulary, interest and engagement in reading. This makes them perfect presents at Christmas time. With some books as low as $2-$5, now is the perfect time to order.
Pease have orders in by the 18th of November to ensure orders arrive before school ends for the year. Thank you all for your support this year. Any questions regarding scholastic orders for Officer can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A huge thank you for the wonderful response to the call out for bottle tops over recent weeks. We have almost completed the project and here are some progress photos. I was recently told of an organisation which collects bottle tops for melting down and making into prosthetics. See Envision Hands. I am happy to continue to collect and forward them to this worthy cause.
