Assistant Principal Update

Dear Families, Students and Community Members,

This year certainly is progressing fast and nowhere is this felt more than our current cohort of Year 12s. They will complete a week of exam preparation this week before their practice exams next week. This will be followed by two more weeks of explicit exam preparation when we return next term to ensure they are as prepared as possible for the VCAA VCE exams in October and November.

VCAL students are also working towards completion of their coursework for their Senior VCAL Certificates. VCAL students must also successfully complete their TAFE studies and the required amount of structured workplace learning across the year. Some students have already been offered apprenticeships in their chosen fields and jobs with their current work placements for when they graduate from Mordialloc College.

Hosting International Students

The College’s International Student Program continues to grow with 41 students currently enrolled. We hope to increase this to a maximum of 60 students next year and are therefore looking for families who would be willing to host an International Student. We are endeavouring to further diversify our program and this semester we have students from Japan, Denmark, Cambodia, Thailand and China/Hong Kong.

We are also seeking to have a mix of study abroad students (who typically stay for one year) and International Students who wish to complete their VCE and seek university entrance.

Please contact if you would like more information or are interested in becoming a homestay host.

Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews, Upcoming Reports and Feedback on Reporting.

I will be sending out a survey on the recent parent/student/teacher interviews early next term so please look out for an email sent through Compass with a link.

Progress Reports will also be available at the end of next week so please ensure you log in to Compass to monitor your child’s progress in terms of Work Habits and their level of achievement in Benchmark Tasks/SACs through the Learning Tasks tab.

Parents can also access their child’s NAPLAN data. Click on your child’s “profile” from your dashboard and select the “Analytics” tab.

If you are having any difficulties logging on to Compass please contact the General office on 9580 1184.

Last Day of Term: Mordi Idol

As the last day of term rapidly approaches we eagerly await to unleash the school’s talent at Mordi Idol! A reminder that there will also be an early finish of 1:30pm.
