A Great Start to the Term!

As outlined at Assembly on Monday, these are the Inquiry topics that will be a focus this term:

Foundation: Seasons and Weather

Grade 1/2: Get into the Green Scene!

Grade 3/4: Government  and  Democracy

Grade 5/6: Invention and Design to Enhance Society

We are looking forward to another great term of learning.

Learning in the classroom:

You would have received a Compass feed last week, outlining what is happening this term in your child's grade.  If you haven't seen this yet, please read this important information so that you can further your understanding of the learning that will be taking place in our classrooms.

Lunch Clubs:

We are also so pleased to announce the variety of Lunch Clubs that will be running this term. Our teachers are amazing and we thank them for volunteering their time.

2019 - Parent Survey is now live!

If you have received an email in regards to this survey, we would appreciate you taking the time to  complete it! Many thanks.

The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.  Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 22nd July to Sunday 11th August.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.

Enjoy the remainder of the week!

Working Bee - Saturday 3rd August

Our next Working Bee is coming up on Saturday 3rd August.

We will be planting out the newly built stage and play ground area and completing a range of maintenance jobs to keep our school safe and looking neat and tidy.

Many hands make light work and children are welcome to join in.

Morning tea will be provided.

Looking forward to seeing many of you here.

Fathers Day Stall – August 30th

We will be running our Fathers Day stall on Friday August 30th this year. The children will visit the stall in their class groups and purchase a gift or two for the important adult in their lives. Closer to the 30th we will be asking for helpers to work on the stall and help the children make their purchases but we are also looking for someone to coordinate the whole event. If you are interested in this role, please contact Suzi Smith via the office.

Terrarium Workshop (wine & nibbles) – Friday September 13th

The newly opened ‘Botanical Styling by Liz’ in Brougham St Eltham is running a ‘Terrarium workshop’ just for Monty Primary parents. With wine and nibbles provided, it will be a fun evening, a chance to catch up with friends, and you go home with a beautifully handcrafted terrarium.

Spaces are strictly limited, so book your babysitters and keep an eye open for booking details.

Foodworks Reward program

Everyone shops at Foodworks in Were St, it is easy and convenient. Now it can be   rewarding as well.

Next time you are in Foodworks simply ask for a Rewards Club Card at checkout and then register the card online at home. You then nominate the percentage of points you want to go to the school by selecting Montmorency Primary School as the receiver.

Then every time you go shopping at any Foodworks, remember to have your Club Card scanned. You can see how many points you have earnt at the bottom of your receipt.

The school is rewarded with a cheque or Foodworks vouchers which we then use as raffle prizes.

Earnings for 2019 have been over $100 already! A great effort.
