Camp

Year 5 students, Mrs Rochecouste, Miss Bland, Miss Biggs, Tegan and Mr Millar left for Merricks Lodge on Tuesday morning.  They have been busy participating in various water-based activities.  Luckily the weather has been perfect for them.

School Photos

School Photos will take place on Wednesday 27th March. Order envelopes from The School Photographer have been sent home. These envelopes are to come back to school on photo day not before with your order and payment.

ALL students must wear their full Summer Uniform.  If your child has PE on Wednesday, they can bring their runners to change in to.

Chess Club

Chess Club will begin at Galilee in Term 2.  The sessions will run weekly on Thursday at 1:50-2:30pm (during lunch).  The cost is $12 per lesson.

The sessions will be coordinated by David Topol from Top Chess.

Top Chess offers engaging and interactive chess lessons to students of all ages. The purpose of the program is to develop students chess abilities alongside a deeper understanding of problem solving techniques that have utility in all areas of life. Students are offered the opportunity to apply their knowledge in both weekly interclass tournaments, as well as, interschool tournaments ranging from regional to national level.

David has over six years of teaching and coordinating chess lessons and tournaments in a number of schools around Melbourne.  He is devoted to providing the highest level of teaching as he has benefited immensely from the study and teaching of chess since a young age.  David is looking forward to working with the students at Galilee.

David will be offering a trial session for all students next Thursday 28 March (during lunch time).

If your child is interested in joining the Chess Club, please email Danielle Gerecke [email protected]

PCW & CBC Open Day

Harmony Day

Harmony Day is held each year on the 21st of March. It’s a day to celebrate our cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. At Galilee, the students will participate in a special Harmony Day Assembly on Friday 29th March at 9am.

Harmony Day Parade of Nations

We ask students to dress up in the traditional dress and participate in the Parade of Nations. They can also wear Orange, which is the official Harmony Day colour. If you don’t own any orange, you could wear an Orange ribbon with your school uniform.
