Mother’s Day Thankyou

Thank you once again to the mothers who organised the Mothers’ Day Stall, in particular Greta Trent. This event involved a lot of work behind the scenes in preparation as well as manning the stall on the day.  The children really enjoy choosing the gifts and no doubt were even more excited giving them.  I hope that you had a wonderful day with your families in celebration of the most important job in the world.

Building Update

Building works are going very well and ahead of schedule.  The former Performing Arts Centre is nearly completed and 2E and 2D will be relocating there as soon as handover is complete. This is in preparation for Stage 2 which will commence in Term 2 – the refurbishment of the east side of the main building.

The Kindergarten is also near completion. From next term we are planning to offer extended day care for children in the 4yo groups subject to School Council approval, demand and operational needs.

In 2020 we will be offering extended day care for children on half days. Currently we are planning to run three 4yo old groups. If you know of any families where 3 full days at the kindergarten would make a difference please let them know.  Enrolment First Round offers close on the 30th June and are done online through Monash Council.

The Gymnasium is scheduled to be completed in the first week of the holidays. The Year 3’s and Year 4 will be relocated to this area. OSHC will also operate from the gymnasium.  The area will be modified to make it suitable for classes.

The Year One's have dived straight into our Inquiry unit, ‘Our Oceans, our Future’ by visiting the Melbourne Aquarium and Maritime Cove.  Prior to our visit, the students had many wonderings.  Some wonderings were unravelled and we look forward to exploring new learnings this term.
