All children have rights regardless of who they are

Students in Year 4 inquire into their rights and responsibilities discovering whether these are the same as children around the world; in particular Vietnam.

  • The similarities and differences between a right and a responsibility
  • Whether these rights differ throughout the world

Action

Action in the PYP is initiated independently by the student as a result of the learning process. Action may be bringing a book or artefact related to the inquiry to school, or student initiated drawings/posters/research. We celebrate our students’ ACTION every day in our class-rooms. If you see your children taking independent action at home encourage them to share their action with their class.

Students will receive homework based around the Unit of Inquiry. We will ask students to think about the migration stories of their families and other individuals.

The body is a machine made up of different systems that need to be maintained ​

Students will receive homework based around the Unit of Inquiry. Students will complete a human body investigation in which they research a system or body part.

Action

Action in the PYP is initiated independently by the student as a result of the learning process. Action presents itself in many different ways. If your child takes action in any way at home, for example reading books, collecting photos and/or researching independently, please encourage them to share their action with the class.

Incursion

The Year Four students will take part in ‘The Body Investigators’ Drama Toolbox workshop on Monday 7 August where they will be thoroughly engaged in an interactive investigation into the human body and its systems.
