F.O.R.s - Friends of RidgeView School

Our Friends of RidgeView School are planning the first of two school discos for 2018.  Please add the following date to your diaries.

RVS School Disco

6.00pm - 7.30pm

Thursday, 14th June

Waahi Whakaaroaro (outside classroom)

A guest DJ has been organised

We encourage our families and friends to join our next fundraising meeting at 6.00pm on Wednesday, 23rd May in the staffroom.   We will be completing funding grant application forms and planning the disco.

Anti-bullying Week

This week is Anti-bullying Week.  During the week, the children will take part in discussions and activities that reinforce anti-bullying strategies.  This will include understanding the role of bullies, victims and bystanders in bullying situations.  I will also remind our students about the communication letterbox in the office that I empty on a daily basis.

We will conclude the week with a Pink Shirt day on Friday, 18th May.  Students are encouraged to wear pink shirt/top to remind us of the importance of caring and looking out for each other.

Board of Trustees Meeting

The Board of Trustees needed to move the date of last week's meeting.  This meeting will now be held at 6.00pm on Wednesday, 16th May in the staffroom.

A reminder that the Board are seeking bookkeeping expertise.  If you are able to help, please contact Tom Brennan (Chairperson) at [email protected]

Congratulations Netballers!

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 netball team who played their first game of the season at Netball North Harbour last Wednesday, the team played fantastically and were very well supported on the sideline.  Thanks to Joyce Smith for coaching and managing this team.

This Wednesday's game has been scheduled for 6.30pm on Court 1 against Murray's Bay Primary School.

Whole School Visit to North Shore Aerodrome

As you will be aware, the students are inquiring into the topic of flight this term.  Mrs Charmaine Foster has organised an exciting trip to the North Shore Aerodrome on Tuesday, 22nd May.  The children will have a tour of the aerodrome, look at aspects of engineering and sit in a plane.

Please return your child's permission form for this trip to their class teacher.

Teacher Only Day

We remind all families that school will be closed on Friday, 1st June to allow our teachers to attend a conference with the six other schools in our Community of Learning.  Please check that you have alternative childcare arranged for your child on this day.

Combined Kahui Ako Kapa Haka Group

Our CoL combined schools' Kapa Haka group will perform at the conference on Friday, 1st June and attend two practices at AJHS.  Please remember to return your child's permission form to Mrs Fenn if they are taking part in these events.
