End of term early dismissal at 2.30pm

Parents are reminded that Term 2 concludes tomorrow and the students will be dismissed at 2.30 pm.

History Art Competition

Thank you to everyone who entered the competition.

If you have a masterpiece underway and just didn't find time to complete it during the week, we will accept late entries until 2.30pm tomorrow and then the competition will close.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent teacher interviews have been very well attended. Classroom teachers and specialist teachers received a fantastic response from the parent community. Interviews provide an opportunity to exchange information and celebrate student progress in Semester 1 and areas of focus for Semester 2.

Helping your child at home

Research shows that families are the most significant influence on their child's learning, development, health, safety and wellbeing. In addition to tips and strategies provided by your child's teacher, the Department of Education has developed a fantastic collection of literacy and numeracy tips for parents to use to help their child at home.

Please click HERE to link to the DET website and download your copy of the booklet.

As another term ends, thank you to our teachers, office staff, parents and students

It is a privilege to be part of a community where thoughtfulness, helpfulness and effort are ever present. Beaumaris Primary is a wonderful community school.

We are an amazing team and together  our students, teachers, office staff and parents achieve great things.

It is very rewarding to see students, teachers, office staff and parents helping and supporting each other in so many ways.

The help and support is sometimes overt and highly visible and sometimes quite discreet and invisible.

Together we share a genuine willingness to make Beaumaris a great place for our students and we have their best interests at heart.  A friendly gesture, a kind word, a helpful hand and a thank you are common place at this school.

        Gratitude     Empathy         Mindfulness

What are three things that went well for you today?

What was the best thing that happened to you today?

Who are you most grateful for today and why?

What are you looking forward to most about tomorrow?

Best wishes to all for  a happy, safe and relaxing holiday.

2018 Regional Leadership Conference

On the 14th and 15th June, Sheryl and I attended the 2018 Regional Leadership Conference. The theme was ‘Leading Excellence In Teaching and Learning’ and combined a series of keynote speakers, expert practitioner workshops and peer learning labs over the 2 days.

The learning intentions for the Regional Leadership Conference were to:

  • Deepen school leaders’ understanding of the importance in leading for excellence.
  • Enhance school leaders’ understanding and capabilities to lead for excellence in teaching and learning.
  • To engage school leaders in ongoing reflection and application of their learnings to further enhance their school improvement efforts.

We were welcomed by the Hon. James Merlino, Minister for Education, the Secretary of Education and Training, Gill Callister and the Deputy Secretary of Regional Services Group, Bruce Armstrong. Collectively their messages inspired us to engage, connect and learn from each other and immerse ourselves in the latest evidence, strategies and resources and share this knowledge at the school level.

As a system over the last 3 years, we have immersed ourselves in The Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO). FISO supports coherence in our education system and guides schools’ planning, implementation and monitoring of student learning. It provides a shared depth of understanding for continuous engagement in improving student learning outcomes and a shared language for improvement discussions between schools and regions. This years’ conference gave us further opportunities to work with expert practitioners, peers and guest speakers and share evidence based resources and strategies that are improving student outcomes, and reflect further on future improvements for our own school.
