Pupil Free Day tomorrow

Please remember Friday 3 August is a pupil free day.

If you require childcare tomorrow please register online with Camp Australia.

Congratulations to the BPS Hockey Team

Another great success for the Beaumaris Primary Sport program.

Last week our T-Ball Team, coached by Mr Peter Jarvis,  won their round and advanced to the regional competition and now both our Hockey Teams have achieved the same success.

Congratulations to our students for their achievements to date and best wishes for the regional competition in a few weeks. Thank you also to Mrs Lucy Farmer for coaching the Hockey teams and to all parents for their support throughout the season.  Good luck everyone!

School Review Term 4

Every four years all schools undertake a school review.

Beaumaris Primary will undertake a four-yearly review later this year.  The review will conclude our current Strategic Plan 2015-2018, and inform our new Strategic Plan 2019-2023.  The  review process is exciting as it allows us to affirm the wonderful programs and learning environment that we have at the school as well as determine where improvements can be made.

We will be gathering feedback from students, parents and staff to support the self-evaluation.

Over the coming weeks, parents and students will be invited to give feedback on their experiences of the school and its programs.

With this in mind I invite parents to come along to a Parent Focus Group facilitated by David Anderson, our Education Consultant.

I encourage parents to attend. Your contributions will certainly assist and inform our future planning to enable us  to continue to build on and improve the home school partnership over the next four years.

When:     Monday 13th August at 9.05 -10.00 am

Where:    Susan Arnts Learning Centre

Alumni Gathering Tonight 2015, 2016, 2017

A friendly reminder to families with children from Year 6 in 2015, 2016 or 2017. Tonight we have organised an after school alumni gathering in the Year 5  and 6 building.  We hope to catch up with as many past students as possible and we look forward to hearing their news.

Year 2 Performance evening tonight

The students are very excited about their performance for their parents in the hall this evening. Thank you to Mrs Rothberg and the Year 2 teachers for all they have done to prepare the students. Good luck everyone!

One hundred days of Prep

On Tuesday our Prep students celebrated this special milestone with their Year 6 Buddies. They spent the day in their pyjamas and enjoyed a delicious lunch together. Congratulations to our Prep students and their teachers. The students are well settled into school now thanks to the kind caring nature of the teachers, the wonderful encouragement and calmness provided by their buddy and the fantastic support of the parents.   Have a look on our Facebook page to see the photos we posted for this day.

Scholastic Book Fair Week and Dress Up Day

Coming soon is our book fair, running from Monday 13th to Thursday 16th August in the SALC.  You can view the books on display in the SALC every day between 8.30am and 4pm.  On Thursday we encourage all students to come to school dressed up as their favourite book character.

Remember: Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness

What are three things that went well for you today?

What are the best things that happened to you today?

Who are you most grateful for and why?

What are you looking forward to most about tomorrow?

Uniform Shop

We have a large number of second-hand uniform items in very good condition available for sale in the Uniform Shop for only $5 each.  The shop will be open on Tuesday 7th August from 8.45am to 9.15am.

Snack Shack Update

Chicken noodle soup was another huge success this week. We will be serving chicken noodle soup at recess and lunchtime on Mondays for the month of August or until stock runs out. Thank you for the Fitzgerald family for their generous donation of over 100 metal teaspoons which the children need for eating their soup and yoghurts with. Plastic spoons are no longer used in the canteen. Sausage rolls are continuing to be very popular. Any feedback on the changing menu is always welcome so please email [email protected] with your comments. Thank you, Ellie H.

Congratulations Lulu

We would like to congratulate our Year 5 student, Lulu who has been selected for the School Sports Victoria's U12 girls hockey team.

Parenting Workshops

Heartlinks has a number of parenting workshops coming up in August 2018 that may be very useful for our parents and school community.  All workshops run from the Family Life offices in Sandringham.  (Heartlinks is a social enterprise of Family Life, as a local community not-for-profit organisation).  Flyers with details of three programmes starting soon are shown here.

Greatest Showman/Circus Fundraiser

Start typing your article in here...

As you know our big fundraiser for this year is our Greatest Showman/Circus themed parent social night on Sat 27th Oct at Sandy by the Bay. Please save the date if you haven't already. Funds raised will go towards ongoing improvements to the playground spaces.  We have a fabulous team already volunteering but do need some more help. So if you would like to volunteer for any of the below please let me know.

  • I have lots of donations that need collecting from different areas so would love some volunteers for this
  • We need 2 or 3 people to ask the Concourse shops for donations
  • I have a few other shops to target that need donation letters dropped off to and followed up. You can let me know how many you are able to approach. Every business approached helps.

We have two school families who are currently sponsoring us (thank you LAMI & BC Dental) with a few more coming onboard soon. However we would LOVE as many sponsors as possible. Sponsorship starts from $250 so let me know if this interests you and I can send you a sponsorship document.

We need lots of donations for our online auction so if you can donate anything it will be gratefully received. We are also making up hampers so if you have any new but unwanted pressies hiding in your cupboards please drop them off to the office.

Finally if you have any contacts for donations please get in touch.

Many thanks
