Dear Parents and Friends of St Therese’s Primary School,
Welcome back!
I hope that you all had an incredible term break. Over the holidays, I spent the first week with my family camping in the Grampians. While enjoying our adventures that included kayaking, bush walking and sitting around the campfire, I could appreciate the great land that we live in. How lucky are we to live in such an amazing country? The view from one of the climbs that we did was absolutely breathtaking! I feel so blessed to call Australia home.
A lot of my time in the second week of the holidays was spent at St Therese’s ensuring everything was ready for the beginning of Term Four. As you walk around the school, you may have noticed that the toilets are a little brighter and fresher. While not a complete renovation, we have had the toilet blocks cleaned, fixed and painted. In fact the entire school has undergone a complete spring clean thanks to our new cleaners. Keeping our school clean and tidy ensures a healthy learning and work environment that we can all be proud of.
Term Four heralds the beginning of the warmer weather. All students are required to wear the summer uniform including a school hat. Next week the “No Hat No Play” will be enforced requiring any child who is not wearing a school hat to sit under cover. If you need to purchase a new hat please go to PSW Hampton Park - Unit 2, 10-12 South Link, Dandenong.
The summer uniform includes the following:
Girls
- Summer dress
- Dark maroon windcheater or bomber jacket
- White short socks
- Black shoes
- School hat
- Scrunchies or ribbons in school colours.
Boys
- Navy shorts or long navy trousers
- Maroon polo shirt
- Dark maroon windcheater or bomber jacket
- Navy socks
- Black shoes
- School hat
This Wednesday 10th October, is Saint Therese’s Feast Day. Children are invited to wear their sports uniform and runners. The day will begin with KABOOM! leading a sports carnival. Between recess and lunch, the children will participate in a walk-a-thon to raise money for The Well for Nativity Private School in Nigeria that is run by Sister Grace. Thank you to the parents who have supported their children in finding sponsors for their child’s walk-a-thon. This fundraiser is part of a combined effort with St Agatha’s in Cranbourne.
Donations for The Well fundraiser can also be made by dropping in coins in the tin at the front office. Over the next few weeks, we will check in with St Agatha’s to see how our combined efforts to raise money are going. Thanks to Mr Cowan for organising and coordinating the event. Father Joseph and the Sisters are very grateful for the money raised!
2019 Year Six Jumpers and Polo Shirts must be ordered by this Friday 12th October. Please see information under our School News tab if you haven't already placed your order.
At the end of Term Three, we held Footy Day. Please enjoy the photos from this day as you get back into the routine of school this week!
Yours in partnership,
Michelle Bruitzman
