From the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers, Konnichiwa!

External School Review

Our External School Review (ESR) was conducted on 19th and 20th August this week. A Department for Education review officer, Debbie Grzeckowski and peer principal, Paul Luke from Craigburn Primary School visited the school and had conversations with students, parents, Governing Council and staff about student learning and improvement. They also visited classrooms. Every state school is reviewed in a three year cycle as part of ongoing improvement practices and focus on student learning.

A report on the visits and directions for improvement is being completed by the review officer and I will be able to share the report when I receive it. The report will also be saved on our school website. Thanks to the students, staff, parents and Governing Council members that contributed to the conversations and visits.

Science week celebrations were a blast!

It’s 50 years since the first man walked on the moon, so we celebrated Science Week with the theme ‘Destination Moon – more missions, more science.’ Students took their rockets they researched, designed and created out onto the oval and enjoyed blasting off together.

With Adelaide planning to become home to the Australian Space Agency, it is important we prepare our young people for their STEM future.
