There are still a number of families who have outstanding fees to be paid. Accounts and reminders were sent home last term.
All fees were to be paid by September 5th unless you have a payment arrangement with Mr Millar.
Please call the office if you would like to arrange a meeting to discuss a payment plan.
Please clearly label your child's uniform, especially hats. On day 2 of this term we have already had some hats missing!
Hats are to be worn every day in Terms 4 & 1 and are compulsory by next Monday 14th October.
Summer Uniform is to be worn by all students by Monday 28th October.
A reminder to please obey road rules and parking restrictions around the school, particularly Park and Bank Streets, to ensure the safety of our students, parents and other public.
Parking in our driveway or double parking is a risk to all.
Galilee's annual Art show will be held on Thursday 24th October.
You will have the opportunity to buy a pack of 6 cards with your child's art work printed on the front of the cards. The art work selected for the cards will be available to view at the office as of Monday 14th October and also on the night of the Art Show. There is only one piece of work per student selected for cards but more to view at the Art Show. A pack of 6 cards will cost $10 this year.
Art Show - a favourite on the school calendar - 24 October from 5-7pm
Mal Orr is making final preparations for the Art Show of all our students work and the Prep parents are busy helping organise refreshments for the evening and food trucks - a great excuse for an easy dinner! A Caremonkey will be sent next week, please let us know if you are coming to the Art Show!
Galilee Parents Association AGM - Tuesday 19 November 2019 - 7:30pm
Put the date in your diaries for the AGM where we will recap the successes and learnings from 2019 and make plans for moving forward in 2020.
At the AGM this year the elected positions of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer will all be up for nomination and election. These positions are renewed every 2-3 years to ensure we have a dynamic and inclusive committee.
Annalise, Jess, Emma and Maureen have thoroughly enjoyed these positions for the last 2-3 years but will not be renominating for them. They will ensure people taking on these roles are well supported as they transition into these roles in 2020 and will remain on as general members into the future.
These main roles are a 2-3 year position. If anyone is interested in these positions or know of someone who might be please let us or Simon Millar know.
Please read the role descriptions attached. Any questions please email the address below or see a committee member.

In a few days Mrs Petrarca is participating in a half marathon for the Lungitude Foundation. Good luck Mrs Petrarca!
Over the last 2 weeks we had our Holiday Program following the Back in Time Theme. Our children participated in lots of activities which where science experiments, icing cookies, making Succulents, going to the Melbourne Museum where Jack liked looking through binoculars and seeing dinosaurs in it, Sofia liked the giant squid, Jessica enjoyed seeing a colourful invention, while Ishaan really found the old black and white videos fascinating.
Other fun activities the children really loved taking part in was using their imagination when making clay sculptures, going on an excursion to Kryal Castle where Oliver, Max, Sofia, Dante, Elana, Elijah, Xavier,Jessica, Jack and Adele had so much fun watching the Mounted Skill at Arms Tournament with knights and warhorses.
We went through a maze and then all the children got to go on a giant inflatable slide.
The most successful activity was the Billy Cart Incursion where Evelyn, Evie, Oliver, Aston, Adele, Xavier, Elijah, Zoe, Sarah, Ethen, Aiden, Sofia, Isabella, Jessica, Lehara, and Milla got to experience making things out of wood, nuts and washers. Children got to participate in a timed activity in 2 groups to see which group can work together the quickest to build a billy cart. Last of all the children got to ride in 2 different types of billy carts around some cones.
Tomorrow at 2:20pm there will be a whole school concert by Andrew Chinn, a Catholic singer/songwriter in the Galilee school hall. All parents are welcome to attend. We'd love to see you there!
