World Cup

Brad Saunders

Brad has had a good trip so far, making Semi Finals in Paris, then in London he skated well but was a bit unlucky and just missed getting into finals.

He then went to Montpellier in France for the FISE World Cup event.  The FISE World Cup event is considered the most anticipated amongst action sports riders and fans.  Crowds for this one usually hit the 600,000 mark, making it the biggest action sports event of the year.  It is famous for not only the incredible line up of sports but also the incredible night life.  Brad won the Open Amateur Division, an excellent result.

He now flies to America for the 'Dew Tour' on 13th to 16th of June. Then he has a National Training Camp in the States and then more comps in July.  Brad will be back in Australia in the first week of August.  So far he has had a great journey.

GWR Cross Country

On Monday 3rd June, four students travelled to Warrnambool to compete in the Greater Western Region Cross Country. The weather was very cold and windy but the students showed great determination and gave the run their best effort.

The results for the day:

Dallas Smart: 47th (3km)

Destiny Frisby: 67th (3km)

Liam McLinden: 28th (6km)

Jack Peacock: 14th (6km)

A special congratulations to Jack Peacock, who has made it through to the State Championships for his 6km event.

Thank you to all of the family and friends who assisted with driving the students to the event and for supporting them on the day.

Year 8 - Ecolinc

At Ecolinc ...

*  I built a lego car that moves because of the re-chargable battery I built.

*  I learned that different combinations of metal can make a lemon battery.

*  I liked seeing how many volts we could get out of putting metal in a lemon and connecting wires to it.

*  I didn't know you could make a battery out of a lemon

*  I didn't know that there was liquid in batteries

*  I learned that magnesium reacts and dissolves with the lemon.

*  I learned that nuclear fusion is fusing nuclear atoms together.

*  I learned that you can make a lego car move by itself.

*  I pushed my car so fast that the light lit up!

*  I learned that the magnesium bubbled in the lemon
